Good afternoon I am a United States Marine and this Tuesday I have court because about a month ago during a holiday I took a flight home to see my family but I didnt do it the right way generally we have a range to travel abroad from the base and during a holiday the range is 450 miles but I traveled 550 miles so I had to make a special leave request and I didnt do it because one of my friends told me that I didnt need it so on the day of my trip another of my Ncos told me that since I was not going outside the limits of a holiday and had not made a special leave request I could not go, but nevertheless I left ,The day I was supposed to return I missed my flight and as a result I could not get to work at the designated time and I let my superiors know that I missed the flight and where I was.
